Cat Discovers Robot Vacuum, Launches Unlicensed Carpet Shuttle Service

A cat learned to ride a robot vacuum and immediately began offering passengers scenic carpet tours, despite having no map, license, or interest in stopping.

What Happened

A house cat reportedly turned a robot vacuum into a low-speed transportation system after discovering that sitting on top of it made every trip feel official.

The cat, named Biscuit, first climbed aboard during a routine living-room cleaning. The vacuum started moving, Biscuit remained perfectly still, and the family assumed he would jump off when the machine reached the rug. Instead, he stayed on through the hallway, around a table leg, and past a decorative basket he appeared to recognize as a landmark.

By the third ride, Biscuit had established a schedule. Morning service ran from the sofa to the kitchen. Afternoon service covered the “sunbeam district.” Evening service offered a dramatic loop around the coffee table, provided the dog was not blocking the terminal.

Passengers were imaginary, but Biscuit still behaved like a transit operator. He stared at anyone approaching, waited three seconds, and then departed without explanation. A child made a paper sign reading CARPET SHUTTLE: EXACT CHANGE NOT REQUIRED. Someone added a second sign listing the route as “everywhere the vacuum can reach.”

The vacuum’s mapping app now contains several mysterious annotations, including “Biscuit’s station,” “snack transfer,” and “do not disturb the conductor.” The family tried to remove the cat from the vehicle, but Biscuit responded by boarding again from the other side of the room.

The shuttle service was suspended after Biscuit rode into a charging dock and refused to disembark. He now waits beside the vacuum each morning, wearing the patient expression of a manager who expects the fleet to resume soon.

Why This Matters

This matters because a robot vacuum can clean a floor, carry a cat, and accidentally create public transportation before breakfast.
