What Happened
A backyard birthday test run turned into “localized foam conditions” Wednesday after a dad named Ron filled a new bubble machine with what he described as “basically the same soap, just economy-sized.” It was not basically the same soap.
Witnesses say the machine began politely, producing a few cheerful bubbles near the patio. Then the wind shifted, the motor found its purpose, and a rolling wall of suds crossed the driveway like a very clean fog bank. A scooter disappeared first. Then two lawn chairs. Ron attempted to stop the machine by yelling “whoa buddy,” which experts confirm is not a power switch.
Why This Matters
Party equipment is designed to create joy in controlled amounts. Dads, however, often believe controlled amounts are suggestions written by people afraid of fun.
Deeper Context
The driveway has been rinsed, the scooter has been recovered, and the birthday child has declared the incident “better than the bounce house.” Ron says next time he will read the label, a statement currently under family review.
