A Columbus bus stop briefly became ceremonial Wednesday after a commuter attempted to open a folding camp chair with a dramatic one-handed snap and instead launched it into a perfect upright position on top of his rolling cooler.
Witnesses said the man stared at the elevated chair, shrugged, and sat down because the bus was late and dignity had already left. The cooler wheels locked, the chair arms clicked outward, and several waiting passengers instinctively formed what one teenager called “a respectful little line.”
The situation escalated when a delivery driver asked if the man was “in charge of the stop now,” prompting three people to request schedule updates he absolutely did not possess.
