What Happened

A parrot named Pickle reportedly turned a small kitchen timer into a household announcement system after discovering that its beep made everybody look up at once.

Pickle first heard the timer while a family member was baking. When the beep sounded, people stopped what they were doing and walked toward the kitchen. Pickle watched carefully from his perch, then spent the afternoon practicing a three-note version of the alarm.

The first unofficial announcement happened the next morning. Pickle made the sound from his cage, and one family member checked the oven. Nothing was burning. Pickle then made the sound again while staring at his empty seed cup.
