What Happened
A family rabbit reportedly turned a smart night-light into a hallway carrot checkpoint after the device began glowing every time he hopped past the laundry room.
The light was installed so people could find the kitchen without stepping on slippers, toy trucks, or the family's extremely confident rabbit, Pickles. It worked perfectly until Pickles learned that crossing the sensor made the hallway look official.
Within one evening, the rabbit had stationed himself under the light like a tiny border agent for vegetables. Anyone carrying a snack bag received a long stare. Anyone carrying carrots received two hops, one nose twitch, and what witnesses described as a silent request for documentation.
The family group chat made things worse by naming the glowing patch Carrot Control. Dad placed a small sticky note on the wall that said produce lane, which caused Grandma to ask if celery needed a separate form.
Pickles has no actual enforcement authority, but the household now pauses at the hallway light before entering the kitchen. The night-light still performs its original job. It also appears to have created the most polite checkpoint in the house.
Why This Matters
This matters because a pet plus motion lighting can make an ordinary hallway feel like it has procedures.
