What Happened
An uncle testing a portable projector reportedly transformed his garage into a one-car drive-in movie theater, despite the only vehicle present being a lawn mower with a cup holder.
The plan was simple: aim the projector at a sheet, check the focus, and put everything away before dinner. Instead, he added two folding chairs, taped a paper sign to the freezer reading "Screen 1," and asked family members whether they preferred premium seating near the extension cord.
The experience became official when he handed out snack tickets made from old receipts. Admission was free, but popcorn required exact change in compliments. The mower was parked in the center spot and briefly treated as a season-pass holder after nobody wanted to move it.
A neighbor walking by asked what was playing. Uncle answered, "menu settings," because the projector had not yet connected to anything. For seven minutes, the audience watched brightness sliders while he narrated them like a coming attraction.
The movie eventually started, although the garage door opener interrupted the first scene and received the loudest applause of the night.
Why This Matters
This matters because portable technology is never truly portable once one relative discovers tape, folding chairs, and a reason to announce showtimes.
Deeper Context
The lawn mower did not review the film. For another household setup that gained too much confidence, revisit the folding table ping-pong command center.
